What is a Modifier?
The word modifier has two different types in writing. Modifier sentences are only descriptive words.
Example: "While drinking my soda, a bee flew by and stung me."
The second type of Modifier sentence is called a Misplaced Modifier. Misplaced Modifier creates an awkward placement which do not describe the words that the writer wrote to best describe them.
Example:
The third type is known as Dangling Modifier, which makes the sentence open and follows through.
Example:
Rewrite the sentences below the page.
1)Watching the Transformers trailer, I made myself scream for joy.
2) Stuck in traffic, the taxi driver played music.
3) Her misbehaved actions destroyed Marcus's invention, Maria now regrets at the science fair.
